The bank was formed with the collaboration of two Regional Rural Banks of Kerala, are South Malabar Gramin Bank (SMGB), North malabar Gramin Bank (NMGB) through a notification by the government of India. Kerala Gramin Bank is the largest Regional Rural Bank (RRB) in the Country.
