About Shri Krishna Institute of Public Administration

The need for organizing comprehensive training of Civil Servants was realized immediately after independence. In 1952, it became imperative for Civil Servants to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for playing the role of change-agents in a backward rural society.
Prior to 1952 there had been no arrangement for the institutional training of the State Administrative Officers; the number of newly appointed officers used to be very small too. After selection they used to be posted in the districts where they used to get training by way of gaining first hand direct experience as they worked in different departments. The senior officers of the districts used to train the newly appointed officers under their own guidance. But this arrangement was not sufficient. As the Land Reforms Act came in force in 1950, and the process of the abolition of "Zamindari" system started, the administrative work, land revenue etc. became more complicated and mutti dimensional.
