Job Profile & Responsibilities

• Corps of Engineers: Responsible for construction, bridging, mining, and combat support.
• Corps of Signals: Manage communication networks and electronic warfare.
• Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME): Oversee maintenance and repair of all technical equipment, vehicles, and weapon systems.
• Army Aviation Corps: Piloting and maintaining military aircraft.

Key responsibilities include troop leadership, technical planning, execution of engineering tasks, ensuring operational readiness, and maintaining discipline.

Eligibility Criteria for TGC 2026

Candidates must meet the following stringent criteria:

Educational Qualification:

• Must have completed an Engineering Degree (BE/B.Tech) or be in the final year of their Engineering Degree course.
• Candidates in their final year of study are eligible only if they can produce proof of passing their final examination by the date specified in the official notification.
• The degree must be from a recognised university or institution.
• Specific engineering streams (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, etc.) will be notified with vacancies.

Age Limit:

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

4. Final Merit List: Prepared based on the marks secured in the SSB interview, considering the medical fitness and eligibility.

Note: There is no written examination for TGC entry.

Salary Structure & Allowances (2026)

Selected candidates are appointed as Lieutenant in the Indian Army. The salary and pay scale are governed by the 7th Pay Commission.

• Basic Pay: Rs. 56,100/- per month (Pay Level 10)
• Military Service Pay (MSP): Fixed amount per month.
• Dearness Allowance (DA): As per government rules.
• Other Allowances: High Altitude Allowance, Field Area Allowance, Composite Duty Allowance, Flying Allowance (if applicable), etc., as per the Army Act and Rules.
