    About Vidya Bhawan Krishi Vigyan Kendra

    Vidya Bhawan Krishi Vigyan Kendra is a Farm Science Centre. Its aim to have tuning agriculture technology, provide training to farmers, the rural youth, and some execution of programs for national importance. The Vidya Bhawan Krishi Vigyan Kendra(VBKVK) is currently providing training in agriculture and some other activities. It also develops some models that have long sustainable technology so that they can be used at village level. Hence,these models can then be design in same way so that they can be used by local organizations for training provided to farming community and extension personals. Initially, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) was started by Indian Council of Agricultural Research in the year 1974 at Pondicherry.

    The institutional design of KVKs across India was formulated under the Chairmanship of Dr. Mohan Sinha Mehta, founder of Vidya Bhawan, in 1973. The Vidya Bhawan Krishi Vigyan Kendra (VBKVK) was started in the year 1984 by signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was between the Vidya Bhawan Society and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
