West Bengal Accelerated Development of Minor Irrigation Project (WBADMIP) was launched on 19th March 2012, with the support of Government of India, Government of West Bengal & World Bank.

The main objective of Water Resources Investigation and Development Department is to enhance agriculture production of small and marginal farmers by strengthening community based institution i.e Water User Association (WUA) looking towards overall management, operation, maintenance, construction and development of Minor Irrigation Schemes(Surface & Groundwater) for developing agricultural activities, including provision of agriculture services, encouraging crop diversification and use of new technologies and creating income generating opportunities.
