The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun invites online application from INDIAN NATIONALS for engaging Nine - 09 researchers as (06) Project Associate – I (Ecology), one (01) Project Associate – I (Ecology - Bioacoustics), one (01) Project Associate – II (SRF) (Ecology), and one (01) Principal Project Associate (Ecology), for various projects on purely contractual basis.
i. The period of the contractual engagement will initially be for a period of 01 (one) year, which is most likely to be extended based on the candidate’s performance and project needs. The EQ, DQ, age, monthly emoluments and other details of the position are as provided below:
1. Name of the Position: Principal project Associate (Ecology)
2. Project: Understanding the Impacts of Mining Areas of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) and Chandrapur Thermal Power Plant
3. Duration: One (01) year
4. No of positions: 01
5. Essential Qualification:
i. Masters’ Degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/ Agriculture/ Environmental Sciences with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University. AND Minimum eight (08) years of research experience in relevant field after Masters’ degree is required. Publications in peerreviewed journals in relevant field.
ii. OR Doctoral Degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/ Agriculture/ Environmental Sciences from a recognized University. AND Minimum four (04) years of research experience in relevant field after Masters’ degree is required. Publications in peerreviewed journals in relevant field
6. Description of Work: Candidate will coordinate a multi-disciplinary team and conduct field research, surveys, data collection, analysis, and report-writing.
7. Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 49,000 + HRA

Selection Procedure
1. Shortlisting of application for online interview of applications will be based on essential qualification, age limit, NET/ GATE qualification, percentage of marks in Bachelor’s and Master’s, specialization relevance in Masters, research experience (Publications, Paper Presented in Workshops/ Seminars/ Symposiums/ Conferences), SOP and extracurricular activities (as per WII rules)
