Cadre-Wise Educational Qualifications & Experience Norms

The educational criteria required for distinct cadres are categorized below:

Scientific Officer 'C' (Core Facility) M.Sc. in Biological Sciences / B.Tech / B.E. in relevant engineering discipline with 60%+ marks 1–2 years hands-on operational experience in high-end imaging, flow cytometry, genomics, or cryo-EM
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) M.Sc. / M.Tech / Integrated BS-MS in Natural Sciences with valid JGEEBILS, CSIR-NET JRF, GATE, or DBT-BET Nil (Prior laboratory project work or dissertation preferred)
Scientific Assistant 'B' B.Sc. with Biological Sciences / 3-Year Diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% aggregate 1–2 years relevant laboratory or equipment maintenance experience
Project Associate-I / II Master's Degree in Natural/Agricultural Sciences or Bachelor's in Engineering/Technology/Medicine 0 years for PA-I; 2 years industrial or academic R&D experience for PA-II
Clerk 'A' / Junior Assistant Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University with 50%+ marks; Computer typing speed 35 wpm 1 year secretarial/clerical office experience in government or autonomous body preferred

Important Compliance & Document Verification Rules

  • Degree Recognition: Qualifications must be earned from UGC/AICTE recognized universities or institutions of national importance. Degrees obtained via distance education in technical/laboratory sciences are not eligible.
  • Caste / Community Certificates: OBC-NCL certificates must be issued in the prescribed Central Government format within the current financial year. State-level non-central OBC certificates are not accepted.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC): Candidates employed in Central/State Government departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), or autonomous research bodies must produce a formal NOC at the time of interview.
