Special Concessions & Departmental Provisions
- CSIR / Central Government Employees: Regular employees of CSIR or central departments who have rendered at least 3 years continuous service receive age relaxation up to 5 years (subject to DoPT rules).
- Widows, Divorced Women & Judicially Separated Women: Age relaxation up to 35 years (up to 38 years for OBC, 40 years for SC/ST) for Group C and Group B non-gazetted posts.
- Ex-Servicemen: Deduction of military service rendered from actual age plus 3 years.
- Nationality & Domicile: Candidates must be citizens of India. Because CSIR is a central premier research council, there is no state-level domicile restriction—candidates from all Indian states and Union Territories are equally eligible to apply.
Medical Standards & Physical Fitness
Because geoscientific research and technical support involve extended outdoor field surveys, seismic sensor installation in rugged terrains, and airborne surveys, selected candidates must be certified medically fit by an authorized Civil Surgeon / Government Medical Board prior to joining CSIR-NGRI.
