Interview For Temporary Position Of Project Associate (1no.) In The Biodiversity And Palaeobiology (Plants & Diatoms) Group.
1. Post Name: Project Associate (1no.)
2. Funding Agency, Title, Period of the Project & Post Code: SERB Sponsored Project: “Phylogeny, Diversification and Biogeography of Gomphonemoid Diatoms in the Western Ghats Biodiversity Hotspot, India: A model system for eukaryotic microbes”.
3. Period up to:19.12.2024 Post Code: ARI/SP-328/PA
4. Group/ Division: Biodiversity and Palaeobiology (Plants & Diatoms) Group
5. Essential: (i) Masters (1st class) in Microbiology. (ii)Must be ready to take rigorous field collection in the Western Ghats (2-3 months/year)
6. Desirable:(i)Previous working experience in diatoms taxonomy and ecology, and (ii)Previous exposure to Western Ghats landscapes.
7. Monthly stipend:
i) Rs.31000/-+ HRA to scholars who have qualified any one of the National level examinations such as CSIR,UGC NET including lectureship or GATE or examination cleared conducted by central Government Departments and their agencies and institutions.
ii) Rs.25000/-+HRA who do not fall under the above category.

Selection Procedure
1. Display of the short list of candidates for interview: Will be displayed on the Institute website.
2. Day, Date & time of online Interview: Will be communicated by email to shortlisted candidates
3. The prescribed essential qualifications are bare minimum and mere possession of same will not entitle the candidate to be called for interview. The Institute reserves the right to select the suitable candidate.

National Level examination DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc., IISER or equivalent, recent Passport size photograph, caste certificate issued by competent authority (for reserved category), receipt of online payment of fees (DO NOT ATTACH OTHER CERTIFICATES/DOCUMENTS) on or before Friday 21st January, 2022
3. Non-refundable application fee of Rs.100/- (except SC/ST/women and PH candidates) to be paid online through https://www.onlinesbi.com/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm or link available on Institute Website http://www.aripune.org (Pay application fees on SBI Collect under Announcements).
4. Candidate should attach the receipt of online payment of fees and indicate the online receipt number in the application form. The Institute is not responsible for any incomplete/pending/failed transactions of online application fee payments and they may contact the concerned bank in this regard.
5. In case of deserving and exceptionally qualified candidates, desirable qualifications are relaxed at the discretion of the Competent Authority.

Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) is an autonomous institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DST). It was established in 1946 as Maharashtra Association for the Cultivation of Science (MACS). Later, as the research activities started expanding, the MACS Research Institute was given a separate identity. The institute was renamed as ARI in 1992 to honour its founder Director, late Professor S. P. Agharkar. The current research and development activities of ARI are spread over six different themes, namely Biodiversity & Paleobiology, Bioenergy, Bioprospecting, Developmental Biology, Genetics & Plant Breeding, and Nanobioscience.
It is affiliated with the S.P. Pune University for postgraduate research (M.Sc. and Ph.D.).
