- Route A (Technical Degree): M.E / M.Tech / M.S. / Integrated M.Tech. / M.Sc. / Integrated M.Sc. / M.Voc in any of the following specialisations:
- Food Technology
- Food Processing
- Food Engineering
- Dairy Technology
- Chemical Engineering
- Post-Harvest Engineering
- Food Science & Nutrition
- Route B (Degree + Research/NET): Master's Degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks AND a PhD in the relevant discipline OR qualified NET in the relevant subject.
