The Bihar Gram Swaraj Yojana Society (BGSYS) is implemented by the Bihar Panchayat Strengthening Project (BPSP).

The society committee which represent the various department and member of the society like :
The State Project Management Unit (SPMU), District Project Management Unit (DPMU), and 19 Block Project Management Unit (BPMU),and 6 divisional Project Management Unit (DPMU),Conducted by the Bihar Gram Swaraj Yojana Society (BGSYS).

The Society functions as a Gram Panchayat capacity building including core institutional capacity, community engagement , Communication & Mass Media and Finance Management & strengthening development capacity of Gram Panchayat in the area of Sanitation, Safe Drinking Water, Nutrition and Natural Resources Management etc.

Under the leadership of Project Director Cum CEO the BGSYS consists of a State Project Management Unit (SPMU), 6 District Project Management Unit (DPMU) and 91 Block Project Management Unit (BPMU). The project will be implemented in every panchayat of 91 blocks in 6 Districts; Patna, Nalanda, Bhojpur, Saharsa, Supaul and Madhepura, in a phase wise manner.
