Educational Qualification:
Essential Qualification: As per Part-4, Rule-8 of the Uttar Pradesh Lekhpal Service Rules, 2006, as amended (First Amendment - 2010, Second Amendment - 2014, Third Amendment - 2015, Fourth Amendment - 2022), for direct recruitment to the post of Lekhpal in the service, a candidate must have passed the Intermediate Examination of the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh, or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Government.

Preferential Qualification: As per Part-4, Rule-9 of the Uttar Pradesh Lekhpal Service Rules, 2006, as amended (First Amendment - 2010, Second Amendment - 2014, Third Amendment - 2015, Fourth Amendment - 2022), in case of direct recruitment, other things being equal, preference shall be given to a candidate who has: (i) served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years, or (ii) obtained a 'B' certificate of the National Cadet Corps.
