The Ministry of Railways is a key department of the Government of India responsible for the development, operation, and regulation of the country's vast railway network. The ministry oversees operations through the Railway Board and coordinates with multiple zones, research organizations, and public sector undertakings to ensure efficient rail connectivity, infrastructure modernization, freight and passenger services, safety systems, and technological upgrades such as “Kavach” anti-collision systems and Vande Bharat trains.
