Vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are included within the above numbers. No HRA is paid. Additional benefits include post-paid CUG SIM (monthly charges up to Rs. 350 for MBBS, Rs. 500 for PG Diploma/Degree holders) and eligible company accommodation on payment (subject to availability).

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Age Limit: Not exceeding 69 years as on 27 October 2026 (date of advertisement). Candidate must be medically fit to perform duties.
• Registration: All candidates must be registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI), National Medical Commission (NMC), or a State Medical Council (SMC) / hold a valid practitioner licence enrolled in State/National Register. Indian nationals only.
• General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO) – Rs. 90,000/month:
  • MBBS from a University/Institute recognized by MCI/NMC/SMC.
• Specialist (PG Diploma) – Rs. 1,20,000/month:
  • MBBS recognized by MCI/NMC/SMC with PG Diploma in the respective specialty (Orthopaedics / Anaesthesia / Obstetrics & Gynaecology).
• Specialist (PG Degree) – Rs. 1,60,000/month:
  • MBBS recognized by MCI/NMC/SMC with PG Degree (MD/MS) in the respective specialty.
• Experience: Relevant post-qualification work experience preferred. Qualifications and experience are counted as on 27 October 2026.
• Ex-Employees: Retired employees of SAIL, other PSUs, and Government organizations may apply, provided they did not exit via voluntary retirement. A self-certificate confirming this must be submitted.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

1. Walk-In Interview: Candidates must report to the venue with the filled Annexure-I form and original documents. Registration is from 09:30 AM to 02:00 PM on 12.11.2026.
2. Document Verification: All certificates are verified strictly at the interview. Candidates unable to produce originals will not be interviewed.
3. Medical Screening: Selected candidates must clear a medical fitness examination before engagement orders are issued.

BSL reserves the right to engage fewer doctors than advertised, reject any application, or cancel the process without assigning a reason. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview. Submission of false information can lead to rejection at any stage, even after selection.

Service Conditions (Contract Terms)

• Initial engagement: 1 year or until the doctor turns 70, whichever is earlier.
• Extendable by 1-year increments up to a maximum of 3 years under the same contract; re-engagement permitted within the age limit.
• Annual performance review; tenure may be curtailed or extended based on review.
• Either party may terminate with 1 month's notice. Company may terminate for poor performance, misconduct, loss of licence, etc.
• Engagement is purely contractual and confers no right to regular appointment in BSL.
• Disputes subject to courts at Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand.
• Working hours: Minimum 8 hours/day, 6 days/week (48 hours/week). Pro-rata payment for lesser hours.
• Leave: 10 days per year (with prior approval); maternity leave under Maternity Benefit Act, 1961.

• Filled Annexure-I Application Form (all fields in CAPITAL LETTERS) with one recent passport-size colour photograph pasted and signed across.
• Original pass certificates and mark sheets for all educational qualifications (MBBS, PG Diploma/Degree as applicable) with one set of self-attested photocopies.
• Matriculation (10th) Certificate as Proof of Date of Birth.
• Valid registration certificate from SMC/MCI/NMC.
• Experience certificate from previous employer on letterhead (if applicable); retired candidates must bring service certificate from parent organization.
• Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar Card / Voter ID / PAN Card / Driving License / Passport).
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) or EWS certificate in prescribed format, issued on or after 01.04.2026 and valid on interview date (if applicable).
• Self-certificate for ex-SAIL/PSU/Govt employees confirming non-VRS exit.
• One extra recent passport-size colour photograph.
