is one of the most oldest cantonment town that is situated in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, India. The newly created cantonment was named after the last name of the village, as it was the very large and most strategically located.The office of Superintendent controls the whole overall network of office. It administers between many different branches/ sections of the office, preparing schedule for Board meetings, preparing of Electoral rolls and some other National level programs like pulse polio etc.
Dagshai Cantonment is located at the top of about 5689 feet (1734 mtr) from ground.
Five villages were given by Maharaja of Patiala for setting up the Dagshai Cantonment without charging single penny. There is no valid data present, regarding the origin of its name as stated by a legendary person, its name was derived from the Urdu phrase "DAAG-E-SHAHI", which imply the Royal Brand/Stamp. The Cantonment Board, Dagshai is now a permitted body that is controlled under the Cantonments Act, 2006
