Eligibility for Chief (Economics)

  • Essential Qualification: M.A (Economics)
  • Desirable Qualification: Ph.D. (Economics)
  • Qualifying Service: Officers under the Central Government:
    • Holding analogous posts on regular basis; or
    • With 2 years regular service in the level-13A (Rs. 1,31,100-2,16,600/-) of pay matrix or pre-revised PB-4, Grade Pay Rs. 8,900/- or equivalent; or
    • With 3 years regular service in the level-13 (Rs. 1,23,100-2,15,900/-) of pay matrix or pre-revised PB-4, Grade Pay Rs. 8,700/- or equivalent;
  • Nature of Experience: Application of regulatory Economics, demand forecasting or modelling.
  • Age Limit: Maximum 56 years (as on 09-02-2026)
