Central Institute for Cotton Research (CICR) was established in April 1976. It is located in Nagpur. CICR is central research institute established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research to promote long-term research efforts in cotton production and provide support and conduct applied research on cotton. The other two regional units are located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu and Sirsa, Haryana.
