Applications are invited from the talented and motivated candidates for working in the following projects. 1. Name of the Post: Project Associate-I 2. No of the Post: 02 3. Nature of Work: Cultivation of edible seaweeds and tissue cultured seedling production. 4. Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Botany/ Biotechnology/ Marine Science/ Marine Biology/Microbiology 5. Monthly remuneration: Rs. 25000/- + HRA

Selection Procedure
1. Application received by mail will be scrutinized based on certain criteria and only such shortlisted candidates are eligible as per criteria will be asked to attend the interview using the online mode. The details of the interview will be sent to such candidates by e-mail.
2. The online interview of the shortlisted candidates is schedule on 03.02.2022.

Historical Context and Organizational Mission
Post-independence in 1947, India faced a critical shortage of edible salt due to the partition, which severed access to Punjab's rock salt deposits and Sind's marine salt works. To address this national crisis, the Government established an inter-departmental committee under the chairmanship of Shri H.M. Patel, the then Cabinet Secretary. The committee's recommendations led to the formation of specialized bodies to investigate salt production, quality, and utilization. Consequently, the Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI) was established to foster research and development in this vital industry.
