Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a premier Miniratna Schedule 'A' Company of the Government of India, has released a notification for the recruitment of workmen posts on a fixed-term contract basis for the CSL-Kolkata Ship Repair Unit (CKSRU), Kolkata. Eligible Indian citizens are invited to apply online for the following positions.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Project Assistant (Mechanical)

• Essential: Three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% of marks from a State Board of Technical Education.
• Experience: Minimum of two years post-qualification experience in a Shipyard, Engineering Company, or Government/Semi-Government Company/Establishment.
• Desirable: Proficiency in Computer Applications like SAP, MS Project, MS Office etc. Ability to communicate in Hindi/Bengali.

Eligibility for Office Attendant

• Essential: Pass in VII Standard and up to XII Standard.
• Experience: Experience is not mandatory. Preference shall be given to those having relevant experience on the job.
• Desirable: Ability to communicate in Hindi/Bengali.

Salary/Stipend

Project Assistant (Mechanical)

• Consolidated pay for candidates meeting the minimum experience requirement is ₹ 24,400/- per month.
• Eligible for compensation for extra hours of work up to ₹ 6,100/- per month.
• Higher pay may be offered for completed years of on-roll experience over and above the minimum required experience in CSL or other similar Shipyards.

Selection Process

Project Assistant (Mechanical)

• Selection will be through an Objective Type Test (Phase I) and a Descriptive Type Test (Phase II).
• Phase I (80 Marks): General Knowledge (05), Reasoning (05), Quantitative Aptitude (10), General English (10), Discipline related (50). Duration: 90 min.
• Phase II (20 Marks): Writing skills (English language). Duration: 45 min.
• Minimum pass marks: 50% (Unreserved) and 40% (PwBD).

Office Attendant

• Phase I (Offline Test): Objective Type Test (50 Marks) comprising General Questions (40 marks) and Quantitative Aptitude (10 marks). Duration: 60 min.
• Phase II (Practical Test): Candidates qualifying Phase I and Certificate Verification will be shortlisted for the Practical Test to be held at West Bengal.
• Minimum pass marks: 50% (Unreserved) and 40% (PwBD) for each phase.

2. The application consists of two phases: One-time Registration and Submission of application.
3. Application fee of ₹ 300/- (plus bank charges) should be remitted online via Debit card/Credit card/Internet Banking/UPI etc. (Exempted for SC/ST/PwBD).
4. The fee payment window is from 30 December 2025 to 21 January 2026.
5. Ensure all details are filled correctly; application once submitted is final.
