Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Crucial Date: 27 November 2026 (date of last online submission).

• Educational Qualification: A degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering from a recognized university/institution.
• Mode of Recruitment: Absorption through Composite Method.
• Who Can Apply:
  • Officers holding analogous posts, OR
  • Superintending Engineer & equivalent posts in Civil Engineering Department (Scale Rs. 13,000-18,250) with 3 years' service in the grade in a Major Port Trust, OR
  • Superintending Engineer & equivalent posts in Civil Engineering Dept. with 2 years' service in grade and combined 7 years' service in scales Rs. 10,750-16,750 & Rs. 13,000-18,250 in a Major Port Trust.
• Discipline: Only officers of Major Port Authorities meeting the Recruitment Rule.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• Selection is based on merit assessed through Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs).
• Overall grading in ACRs must be at least "Very Good".
• Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) for Dy. HoD level posts may be held at Port level (as per Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways letter dated 29.12.2020).
• DPC recommendations will be forwarded to the Ministry for approval before issuance of appointment orders.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the selection process.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

• Original Matriculation (10th) Certificate / Birth Certificate as Proof of Date of Birth
• All Degree and Consolidated Mark Sheets (B.E./B.Tech Civil Engineering)
• Attested copies of APARs/ACRs for last 5 years with attestation by officer not below Dy. HoD rank; "No Report Certificate" for years without ACRs
• Attested experience certificates in relevant post and pay scale
• No-objection certificate from forwarding Major Port Authority
• Certificate from Head of Office (Annexure II) regarding integrity, vigilance status, and penalties in last 10 years
• Vigilance/Administrative clearance in Ministry's proforma (Annexure III)
• Undertaking not to withdraw application if selected
• Recent passport-size photograph & Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN)
