Educational Qualification:
Professor (Bio Chemistry):
(i) Master's degree in Biochemistry or Master's Degree in Chemistry with Biochemistry as one of the papers from a recognised University or institute;
(ii) Twelve years' experience of research work in Biochemistry or twelve years working experience in sugar factory or distillery or other related industrial units or Twelve years teaching experience at degree level in Biochemistry.
Deputy Registrar:
(i) Master's degree in any discipline from a recognised University or Institute.
(ii) Seven years' experience in the field of administration in any recognised university or recognised research institutes.
Junior Scientific Officer (Environmental Engineering):
(i) Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering with specialisation in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science from a recognised University or Institute: and
(ii) Three years' research or teaching experience in the field of Environmental Science or Engineering or three years working experience in Sugar Factory, Distillery or Chemical plant.
Pay Scale:
INR
Level-13 Per Month
Age Limit: Maximum 56 Years.

Department of Food & Public Distribution is one of the two Departments under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. The Ministry is under the charge of Shri Pralhad Joshi, Union Hon’ble Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution with effect from 11th June, 2024, Shri B. L. Verma, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Smt. Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution both with effect from 11th June, 2024.
The main function of this Department is to ensure food security for citizens of the country. The basic concept of food security globally is to ensure that all people, at all times, should get access to the basic food for their active and healthy life and is characterized by availability, access, utilization and stability of food.
The other functions of the Department are
Formulation and implementation of national policies relating to procurement, movement, storage and distribution of food grains
Implementation of the Public Distribution System (PDS) with special focus on the poor
Provision of storage facilities for the maintenance of central reserves of food grains and promotion of scientific storage
Formulation of national policies relating to export and import, Food grain stocking norms, quality control and specifications of food grains
Administration of food subsidies relating to rice, wheat and coarse grains
Policy matters relating to sugar and sugarcane sector, fixation of Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) of sugarcane payable by sugar factories, development and regulation of sugar industry (including training in the field of sugar technology)
Monitoring, price control and supply of edible oils.
