National Institute for Implementation Research on Non-Communicable Diseases (formerly Desert Medicine Research Centre), Jodhpur is a permanent research Institute under the aegis of Indian Council of Medical Research, Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. NIIRNCD invites eligible and willing candidates to appear for walk in written test / personal discussion (walk in interview) for temporary/project posts as under:
1. Name of the Post: Field Worker
2. No. of Posts: 20 ( UR 01, EWS 01, OBC 10, SC 06, ST 02)
3. Name of the Project: Collaborative Project on "Strengthening State Non Communicable Disease Programme for Early Detection of Breast Cancer Involving Strategic Education and Awareness among Women”.
4. Emoluments: Rs.18,000/-p.m. (Consolidated)
5. Essential Qualification:
(i) 12th pass in science subjects and two years diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician or one year DMLT plus one year required experience in a recognized organization or two years field/ laboratory experience.
(ii) B.Sc. (Life Science) degree shall be treated as 3 years experience.
6. Duration: Up to 29.03.2022 only

1. In case of more than 30 candidates, a written test comprising of 20 number of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) with 20 marks, shall be taken. The Qualifying Marks for the written test shall be as under:
(i) For SC/ST : 35%
(ii) For UR/OBC/EWS : 40%
2. The candidates scoring qualifying marks or more shall be interviewed as follows:
(i) Project Research Scientist - II (2) - Top 06 candidates in the written test.
(ii) Project Assistant (2) - Top 06 candidates in the written test.
(iii) Field Worker (20) - Top 60 candidates in the written test.
(iv) Project Information Technology Support - II (1) - Top 03 candidates in the written test.
(v) Project Administrative Support – II (2) - Top 06 candidates in the written test.
3. Only eligible candidates will appear for written test/personal discussion/interview. In case of more than 30 eligible candidates, a written test will be conducted comprising of multiple choice questions. The level of questions would be of essential qualification prescribed for the post. The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the written test/interview subject to qualifying the skill test, wherever applicable.
4. The final merit shall be prepared on the basis of marks of written test and interview. In case of non conductance of written test being less than 30 candidates, the merit shall be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the interview.
1. In the event of selection, a candidate must produce all documents or certificates in original relating to (1) Educational Qualifications (2) Date of Birth (3) Work Experience/ testimonials (4) ID Proof i.e. Aadhar/PAN/Voter ID/Driving License, etc. (5) Oneself attested recent passport size photograph (6) One set of self-attested photocopies of all documents. (7) SC/ST/OBC Certificate, if applicable, for verification at the time of joining the post.
2. Candidates, who fail to bring the original certificates at the time of joining, will not be allowed to join the selected post. Candidates reporting after the scheduled date/ time will also not be allowed to appear in the written test/personal discussions/interview.
3. Date & time of walk in written / Personal discussion:
(i) Project Research Scientist - II and Project Assistant: 10.01.2022 10.00 AM and 11.30 AM
(ii) Field Worker: 11.01.2022 10.00 AM
(iii) Project Information Technology Support - II and Project Administrative Support - II: 12.01.2022 10.00 AM to 10.30 AM

5. 6. The Eligibility of the candidates shall be checked at the venue and only eligible candidates shall be allowed to appear for the written test/interview.

The National Institute for Implementation Research on Non Communicable Diseases came into existence on 07th December 2019. The institute is located in Jodhpur and it replaces the erstwhile Desert Medicine Research Centre. The institute has state of the art facility to conduct basic laboratory based research in its microbiology, biochemistry and vector biology laboratories. The institute is acquiring manpower and facilities for strengthening it's capacity for conducting implementation research in non- communicable diseases. At present, the institute has a set of 10 dedicated scientists, 9 technical experts, ably supported by 28 administrative and support staff. The thrust areas of research are cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, environmental health, nutritional disorders, cancers, injury & trauma, mental illnesses including substance abuse, genetic diseases and other non-communicable diseases of public health significance in India. The institute aspires to carry out implementation research in the thrust areas, provide training for capacity building in implementation research in other academic and research institutions, develop behavior change communication materials and models for tackling risk factors of various non communicable diseases. The institute heartily welcomes collaboration with institutions and individuals with interest in augmenting the thrust areas.
