Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Educational Qualification: Candidate must be a Law Graduate from a recognized university.
• Professional Practice: Must have been actively practising as an advocate for at least seven (7) continuous years.
• Income Tax Compliance: Must have been an income tax payer for at least three (3) years prior to the date of appointment.
• Age Limit: Not less than 30 years and not more than 55 years (calculated as on the date of application). Candidates must enclose a supporting certificate for age.
• Advocate Registration: Must hold a valid Sanad under Section 17 of the Advocates Act, 1961.
• Maximum Service Age: Appointees can perform duties up to a maximum age of 60 years.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• A panel of eligible candidates will be prepared based on the eligibility criteria.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview conducted by the Office of the District Magistrate, Gir Somnath.
• Candidates must attend the interview at their own expense on the fixed date, time, and place with all original certificates.
• No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending the interview.
• The decision of the appointing authority will be final in the selection of panel members.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

Candidates must enclose certified copies of the following documents along with the application form:

• Certified copy of proof of date of birth
• Certified copy of experience certificate showing at least 7 years active practice
• Certified copies of educational qualification certificates (Law degree and mark sheets)
• Income tax returns for the last three years
• Copy of Sanad showing registration as an advocate under Section 17 of the Advocates Act, 1961
• Copy of certificate from the court where practice commenced
• Certified supporting documents for any other qualification claimed
• Recent passport-size photograph affixed on the application form and signed by the candidate

How to Apply

1. Download the application form from the Gir Somnath District recruitment page. The prescribed format is also available on pages 3 to 5 of the notification.
2. Affix a recent passport-size photograph on the form and sign it.
3. Fill in every detail completely. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
4. List all enclosed certified copies in the table provided at the end of the application form.
5. Send the completed form by Speed Post only to: District Magistrate, Gir Somnath, Veraval-Talala Road, At Inaj, Ta. Veraval, Dist. Gir Somnath, Gujarat.
6. Post it early enough so that the application is received by 16 November 2026. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

• Name with surname, present and permanent addresses, birthplace, nationality, and mother tongue
• Date of passing the law degree or equivalent examination
• Date and place of starting practice; total practice duration in years, months, and days
• Year-wise annual income and income tax paid for the last three years
• Any police case or pending court case against the applicant
• Criminal cases conducted in the last three years, cases won, and appeals filed
• Any past or present service as Additional Public Prosecutor with dates
