Doordarshan Kendra Hisar was established with a vision of Satyam, Shivam and Sundaram, Doordarshan has a mission to reach every person with reliable News Balanced Views, innovative educational programmes and entertainment.

The agriculture programmes under ‘Narrowcasting’ are telecast from six LPTs viz. Sirsa, Mandi Dabwali, Hisar, Charkhidadri, Karnal and Yamunanagar to cater the local zonal agricultural and rural requirement, five days in a week from Monday to Friday.

The inauguration of the Kendra was made by the then Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Smt.Sushma Swaraj in the presence of Sh.Om Prakash Chautala the then Chief Minister of Haryna. Initially the Kendra started producing only one hour programme and fifteen minutes News which was gradually increased and at present Kendra telecasts 2 hours and 15 minutes programes from Monday to Friday and 15 minutes regional News bulletin in Hindi daily and feeds important stories for the National Bulletins.
