The Governor (Chancellor) has constituted a Selection Committee to recommend a panel of names to the Chancellor for appointment as Vice Chancellor, Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry, Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh.

2. The Selection Committee invites applications for the position of ViceChancellor, Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry, Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh as per advertisement published in the leading newspapers

3. The following specific criteria have been included by the Selection Committee for assessing the suitability of the prospective candidates for the post of Vice-Chancellor of the above said university:-

(i). Experience in the field of Higher Agriculture Education as Professor or equivalent at least ten years in teaching, research and extension in a University (SAU, DU, CAU, CU etc.) well established institution of repute at the Nationalllnternationallevei.

(ii). Administrative experience in the field of Higher Agriculture Education not below , tqe rank of Professor and Head of the Department in a University (SAU, DU, CAU, CU) at least for 5 years/Dean/or Director (in Professor's grade) of University at least for 3 years/ Director of NationallInternational Institution of Advanced Learning at least for 3 years.

(iii). Execution experience in major research and development projects in Agricultural field

(iv). Should have expenence of working with international bodies or international exposure through participation in workshops, seminars or conferences held out-side the country.

(v). Experience of organizing events such as workshops, semmars, conference at an international level within the country in the field of higher education

(vi). Experience of working in statutory Authority/forums of a University such as Board of Studies, Academic Council, Management Councilor Executive Council, Board of Management, Senate etc.

(vii). Should be recognized with fellowship of professional societies/academies, awards and honours reflecting her/his eminence in agricultural research/ education/extension.

(viii). The Vice-Chancellor shall normally hold office for a term of three years and be eligible for reappointment for another three years but not beyond the age of 65 years.

(ix). The applicant should also be able to give an undertaking that she/he will be able to take up the assignment immediately.

(x). Applicant has to give an undertaking that no Departmental Enquiry/ Criminal case is pending against him.
