The Uttar Pradesh Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go Anusandhan Sansthan is situated at Mathura, which ranks first in the State and ranks fourth in the Country, that was started by Uttar Pradesh Government on 25th January in the year 2001

The university is the primarily for veterinary and animal science Institution which is known for its quality, education and research on different aspects of animal health and production that includes disease diagnosis , extension services through scientific knowledge and expertise, etc.

It is the first Veterinary College in Asia to have the degree in Veterinary Science. from the time it started, it has contributed heavily not only in number of graduates and post-graduates of high Scholastic order, but also in the quality research of national and international standards. The mission of University was done by Uttar Pradesh Government in the year 2001 with basic objective to import the quality education in veterinary and some fields of sciences.

In the year 1975, the College was made as a constituent College of the recently started C.S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology that is located in Kanpur. The University is situated on the Mathura - Agra road which is at a distance of about 5 km from Mathura Railway Junction and about at a distance of 4 km from new bus stand. The main campus of the University is spread at about 782.32 acres of land located at Mathura Cantt.
