Eligibility Criteria

1. Target Group

  • Faculty/Resource person retired from Technical Institutions/Industry.

2. Age Limit

  • No upper age limit for candidates.

3. Educational Qualification & Experience

Critical: Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Industry/Organization/Research/Academics.

A. For Retired Faculty from Technical Institutions/University:

  • Minimum Qualification: B.E./B.Tech./B.S. AND M.E./M.Tech./M.S. in relevant discipline with First Class (or equivalent).
  • Preference: Ph.D. in relevant discipline.
  • Note for Mathematics/Physics: Qualification as per AICTE/UGC/Maharashtra State Government norms.

B. For Retired Persons of Eminence from Industry/Organization:

  • Minimum Qualification: B.E./B.Tech./B.S. in relevant discipline with First Class (or equivalent).
  • OR B.E./B.Tech. AND M.E./M.Tech./M.S. in relevant discipline with First Class.
  • OR Integrated M.Tech. in relevant discipline with First Class.
  • Preference: Ph.D. in relevant discipline.

4. Mandatory Requirements

  • Must submit a Retirement Certificate from the last employer with the application form.
  • Applicants must be retired (not currently employed full-time).
  • Relevant branch is as per AICTE Notification dated 28th April 2017.

Selection Process

This is not an exam. Selection is done by a competent authority based on the recommendation of a Selection Committee.

Selection Committee Composition:

  • Head of the Institution or nominee (Chair)
  • Head of the Concerned Department
  • Dean (Academic/Research)
  • One External Expert (Nominated by Head)
  • Representative for SC/ST/OBC/Minority/Women/Differently-abled (if applicable)

Selection Stages:

  1. Department Level Review: Application is discussed for suitability.
  2. Screening: Institute processes applications based on info provided.
  3. Interview/Presentation: Selection may be by interview, seminar, presentation, or a combination thereof.
  4. Merit List/Panel: Candidates are empanelled for 06 months to 03 years based on merit.

Roles and Responsibilities

Adjunct Faculty are expected to undertake:

About Government College of Engineering Amravati

Government College of Engineering, Amravati (GCOEA) is one of the oldest engineering institutes in the state of Maharashtra, India, located in Amravati .It was established in 1964 by the Government of Maharashtra, along with three other Government institutes at Pune, Aurangabad, and Karad. It was initially affiliated to Nagpur University and later on shifted to Amravati University now Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University SGBAU) in 1982. The Institute started with three basic disciplines Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering initially. Subsequently new degree programs in Electronic & Telecommunication, Computer Science & Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering and Information Technology were added as per the demand, need and requirements of the country.
The institute started part time Post Graduate course in Electrical Power System in 1986 and later added four P.G. Courses in Thermal Power Engineering, Environmental, Geotechnical, and Electronics Systems and Communication. The institute now offers seven full time PG programs in Electrical Power Systems, Structures, Thermal Power Engineering., Environmental Engineering., Advanced Electronics, Computer Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering.
Besides imparting Engineering education in all major Disciplines, it is also a recognized research center for Ph.D. Programs in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering for Amravati University. The total student strength is around 1,700.
