The Research Assistant(s), after engagement, shall not be entitled to any allowance(s) or perk(s) other than the honorarium of Rs. 40,000 per month.
Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
Domicile Requirement
- The candidate must be a Domicile of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in terms of S.O. 166 dated 18.05.2020 issued by the General Administration Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir; OR
- Must be a resident of Union Territory of Ladakh for a period of not less than 15 years before the date of applying and is actually resident of the area.
Educational Qualification – Research Assistant
- Law Graduate (as on the date of appearing at the interview) possessing a Bachelor's Degree in Law (including Integrated Degree Course in Law) from any School/College/University/Institute established by Law in India and recognized by the Bar Council of India for enrolment as an Advocate.
- Minimum of 55% marks in aggregate at Law Graduation.
- The candidate should not have completed two years after enrolment as an Advocate.
- Candidates studying in the final year / last semester of a Three Year Law Course or Five Year Integrated Law Course are also eligible to apply, subject to furnishing proof of acquiring the Law degree qualification with minimum 55% marks in aggregate at the time of interview.
Other Mandatory Eligibility Conditions
- Computer Knowledge: The candidate must have knowledge of Computer, including retrieval of desired information from various search engines/processes such as Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis, Westlaw, etc.
- Integrity & Character: The candidate must have absolute integrity, honesty and good moral character, for which he/she will submit a certificate of two responsible persons at the time of interview.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
The selection of Research Assistant shall be made in accordance with the selection process laid down in the guidelines as notified in the High Court Notification No. 578 dated 30.08.2016, as amended from time to time, vide:

No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for the interview.

- Original Matriculation (10th) Certificate / Birth Certificate as Proof of Date of Birth
- All Degree and Consolidated Mark Sheets (Law Graduation with minimum 55% marks in aggregate)
- Certificate of Enrolment as Advocate from the Bar Council of India (Proof of enrolment date)
- Computer Knowledge / Proficiency Certificate or self-declaration regarding retrieval from Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis, Westlaw etc.
- Certificate of Good Moral Character from Two Responsible Persons (as specified in the notification)
- Domicile Certificate of UT of Jammu and Kashmir (S.O. 166 dated 18.05.2020) OR Residence Certificate of UT of Ladakh (minimum 15 years residency)
- Valid Category / Caste Certificate in Central Government prescribed format (if applicable)
- Two recent passport-size photographs & Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN)
Important Instructions for Candidates
- Any wrong or incorrect information furnished by the candidate shall lead to the rejection of his/her candidature at any stage of the recruitment process.

- On engagement, the candidate must take up the assignment of Research Assistant within the period specified in his/her order of engagement; no request for extension of time will be entertained.

- Any Research Assistant intending to leave the assignment within a period of one year or the extended period shall be required to give prior notice of one month with prior intimation to the Hon'ble Judge to whom attached.
