Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Library Trainee – Educational Qualification:
  • First-class Post Graduation degree in Library and Information Science from a recognized university.
  • A good academic record and willingness to learn.
• Desirable Experience: Experience of working in Higher Education Institutions, Premier B-Schools, or Research settings is desirable. It is not a compulsory requirement.
• Age Limit: Candidates must not exceed 27 years of age. The notification does not mention a cut-off date for age calculation or any age relaxation criteria.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

Job Description & Duties

The duties and responsibilities of the Library Trainee include:

• Work shift duties 6 days a week, including Sundays and public holidays, as per the needs of the Institute.
• Conduct circulation, shelving, and reference service duties regularly.
• Catalogue and classify library books using standard rules (MARC21, DDC, etc.).
• Assist users in locating library books and other information sources.
• Assist the Assistant Library & Information Officer in day-to-day library operations.
• Attend any other duties assigned by reporting authorities from time to time.
