Educational Qualification: M.Phil/Ph.D
R4D India: Inclusive Social Protection for Chronic Health Problems. Seeking the following Mumbai-based positions for a collaborative project between the International Institute of Population sciences (IIPS), Mumbai and Swiss Agency for Development and Global Cooperation (SDC) and the SWISS National Science Foundation (SNSF). Applications are invited for online interview regarding job on contract basis for the following positions
1. Position: Senior Research Officer (2-Position)
2. Education qualification: PhD awarded or submitted/ M. Phil with three year of research experience in Population Studies/Demography/Public Health/ Biostatistics Having at least two peer reviewed research publications (Reputed Journal) in the field of Population Studies, Demography, Public Health, Biostatistics. Excellent command in handling statistical and demographic data analyses. Prior experience with NFHS/LASI data
3. Desirable: Have interest in policy and demonstrated leadership Writing policy briefs or contribution to peer-reviewed publications. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English Suitable relaxation may be considered in case of deserving candidate
4. Specific tasks:
1) Take the lead in developing necessary technical and research document, managing and delivering project activities, from conceptualization, analyses and drafting.
2) Work on creating deliverables and ensure timely submission
3) Assist the lead and co-lead investigators in manuscript development
4) Assist in dissemination event development and implementation
5) Engage with expert policy consultants and a communications expert to support development of materials
6) Competency in advanced statistical analysis
5. Salary: Up to 70,000/- per month (Consolidated) as per qualification/experience.

Selection Procedure
IIPS reserves all the rights to call for any candidate for interview. Qualification and experience may be relaxed in case of suitable candidate.
How to Apply:
1. Interested and eligible applicant may be called for online interview on January 27, 2022 at 3 p.m. Candidates are advised to send their CV, and other documents in support of their qualifications and experience to [email protected]. Selected candidates will report to the faculty coordinators of R4D Project at IIPS.
2. The initial appointment may be for three months extendable on satisfactory performance and fulfillment of assigned responsibilities and retention of funding. The position is based at IIPS in Mumbai, India. Appointment shall terminate with completion of the project or the period of appointment, whichever is earlier. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Selected candidate recommended by selection committee, will be required to join the duty at a short notice.

The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, formerly known as the Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC) till 1970, was established in July 1956 under the joint sponsorship of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, the Government of India and the United Nations. It serves as a regional centre for Training and Research in Population Studies for the ESCAP region. The Institute was re-designated to its present title in 1985 to facilitate the expansion of its academic activities. It was declared as a 'Deemed University' on August 14, 1985, under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The recognition has facilitated the award of recognized degrees by the Institute itself and paved the way for further expansion of the Institute as an academic institution. In 2006, the Institute celebrated its Golden Jubilee.
