Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) Invites Application for Consultant Recruitment 2022

Online applications are invited from dynamic and highly motivated individuals for the following position to work at the India TMT Co-Ordination Centre:

1. Name of the position : Consultant – Principal Engineer

3. Place of Posting : Bengaluru

4. Job Summary:

i. Oversee and monitor the technical and programmatic progress of the M1CS production work packages and contracts in terms of performance, schedule, cost, risk, and earned value.

ii. Work with the TMT PO, and industry in the country to ensure the successful delivery of the systems.

iii. Develop and implement work packages for the fabrication including statements of work, budgets, and schedules.

iv. Identify suitable industries for M1CS hardware

v. Participate in the India TMT vendor selection committees

vi. Work with TMT PO QC/QA staff, and the suppliers in the country to ensure that the required quality control and assurance processes are in place and are being followed.

vii. Represent the India TMT for the purpose of final acceptance of the M1CS and their respective end item documentation packages.

5. Educational Qualification & Experience:

i. A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with minimum of 15 years of experience in the relevant field. The applicant should have played a leadership role in reputed public/private engineering entities in the country.

ii. Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance techniques, quality standards, working knowledge of design through manufacturing and test processes and experience in managing manufacturing projects are essential.

iii. The applicant should have a broad multi-disciplinary engineering background.

iv. Ability to understand and handle the procurement process as per Central Government rules and regulations is desirable.

6. Eligibility & Remuneration:

a) Retired from Central Government/Central Autonomous Institutions in the pay matrix level 13 or above within the last two years. Remuneration not exceeding the Last Pay Drawn minus Basic pension plus Transport Allowance will be paid. The age limit is not more than 62 years as on the last date of receipt of application.

b) For Professionals working/worked in private organizations a consolidated remuneration of Rs.75,000/- per month (all inclusive) will be paid to the candidates in this category. The age limit is not more than 62 years as on the last date of receipt of application.

Selection Procedure

Interview can be online or in person. Outstation candidates called for interview in person will be reimbursed to and fro train/bus fare by the shortest route limited to second sleeper class railway fare on production of tickets.
