Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
Essential Qualification:
- PhD in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Hydrology, or a closely related field. Candidates who have submitted their doctoral thesis may also apply, subject to Institute rules.
- A minimum of 60% or equivalent grade from graduation onwards and 55% or equivalent grade in Class 10th and 12th.
- Demonstrated research experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Application of hydrological modelling
- Remote Sensing, GIS, and Surveying for Natural Disasters
- Flood inundation mapping
- Mathematical or hydrological modelling of water systems
- Experience with numerical modelling and scientific programming.
- Evidence of research ability through peer-reviewed publications or comparable scholarly outputs.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
Desirable Qualification:
- Hands-on experience with hydrological and hydrodynamic models for flood and drought applications.
- Ability to develop data-driven hydrological forecasting models, process satellite and sensor observations, and link regional climate projections to water management systems.
- Experience analyzing geospatial, hydrometeorological, remote-sensing, and infrastructure datasets for Indian regions.
- Track record of publishing in high-quality journals, contributing to project deliverables, and collaborating with students and research partners.
- Experience in building AI-driven digital twin platforms by integrating machine learning emulators with supercomputing infrastructure.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
- Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will be shortlisted for an interview at the discretion of the Institute.
