Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (One Post) in Core Research Grant (CRG), Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Govt. of India sponsored project. The details of the project are as under:

1. Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

2. Number of Position (s): One (01)

3. Title of The Project: Enhancing the Operational Efficiency of a Hydraulic Excavator Machine by introducing a Novel Energy Recuperative Mechanism.

4. Tenure of Project: The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, which is sanctioned for a period of 36 Months (03 Years)

5. Job Description (in a maximum of 100 words): 

(i) The project aims to develop an innovative hydraulic arrangement to enhance energy recuperation and reduce fuel consumption in a hydraulic excavator. The present R&D project highlights three modules:

a) Module I- Development of novel energyefficient hydraulic mechanism using three-chamber-cylinder and hydraulic intensifier representing either boom, arm or bucket operation of hydraulic excavator,

b) Module IIDevelopment of novel energy storage arrangement in the return line of the hydraulic system using a Pelton wheel and electric generator,

c) Module III- Model-based fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control analysis for uninterrupted operation of the proposed hydraulic system for hydraulic hybrid excavator

6. Essential Qualification: The applicant should have M. E./ M. Tech Degree through GATE with specialization in Fluid Power/Fluid Mechanics/Machine Design/ Control Engineering/Robotics/Mechatronics/Mining Machinery Engineering/Mechanical Engineering and B. E./ B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering/Mining Machinery Engineering with first class or equivalent grade from an institute of repute with a minimum 70% marks/CGPA of 7.0 on a 10 point scale. The applicant must have a consistently good academic record throughout.

7. Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of fluid power model simulation using software such as Matlab, DSpace, LabView, ANSYS, Python, Symbols, CFD (Fluent), etc. The applicant should have hands-on experience in experimental studies. Knowledge of advanced control, machine learning, and nonlinear dynamics will be an added advantage.

8. Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- for 1st and 2nd years and Rs. 35000/- for 3rd year per month. No HRA is admissible.

9. Scope: Ph.D. registration may be done if (s)he clears the institute selection process.
