IIIT Delhi Invites Application for Full Time Research Assistant Recruitment 2022

Applications are invited for a full-time research assistant (RA) position, jointly supervised by Dr. Mrinmoy Chakrabarty (Assistant Professor; Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi; https://www.iiitd.ac.in/mrinmoy) and Dr. Varsha Singh (Associate Professor; Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi; https://hss.iitd.ac.in/faculty/varsha-singh) on MFIRP-2022 project (details here) aimed at understanding the brain basis of visual-spatial cognition and internal affective mental states in humans. Candidates meeting the following qualifications along with an inclination towards brain and cognitive sciences are encouraged to apply as mentioned below.

1. Position (Number): Full-time Research Assistant (ONE) ; on-campus presence necessary

2. Monthly remuneration: Rs. 36,000/- (consolidated)

3. Other benefits: Full hands-on experience in research pertaining to experimental psychophysics/psychology and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); data analyses and interpretation. Particularly suitable for those planning higher studies (e.g., Post-graduation or Ph.D.) /employment in these or related areas. Extension to a longer-term, full-time Ph.D. position may be considered based on candidate’s motivation and overall evaluation during the probation period. Opportunity to publish in rigorously peer-reviewed journals. Hostel facility at IIITD (subject to availability and on payment as per institute norms).

4. Requisite qualifications and experience: Motivation in brain and cognitive sciences and full commitment to the project’s goals. (essential). Bachelor's/Master's degree in Cognitive Science, Psychology, Engineering, any other biomedical or basic sciences (essential). Programming skills in MATLAB/Python (desirable). Good interpersonal, spoken and written skills in English (essential). Basic conversational skills in Hindi (desirable)

5. Duration: Total duration = 24 months, renewal based on annual evaluation. Probation – first three months
