Educational Qualification: M.Sc
Applications are invited for one position as Project Assistant/JRF to work in a DST funded project in the QuEST program at the Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, 751005, India.
1. Name of the Post: Project Assistant/ Junior Research Fellow

3. Desirable Qualification: The applicant must have First Class M.Sc in Physics/Mathematics from a recognized University. The candidates who have qualified CSIR/UGC NET/GATE/JEST will be preferred. It is desirable that the candidate has experience in the area of quantum information.
4. Duration: Initial appointment of the candidate will be for one year, extendable by another year subject to the performance and the extension of the project. The project position is co-terminus with the above project. This appointment would not lead to a PhD degree.
5. Fellowship: As per IOP and DST guidelines.
6. Project Description: The main focus of this project will be to study different quantum information processing protocols, developing new techniques and understanding the role of genuine Quantum features. Main topics of interest are of nonlocality, coherence, cryptography, error corrections, and entanglement in relativistic systems/quantum field theory.
7. Starting date: 1st of February could be a tentative starting date. Due to pandemic, exact date is negotiable.

Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar is an autonomous research institution funded jointly by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and the Government of Odisha. The Institute was officially established in 1972 by the Government of Orissa, and registered in 1972 as a registered society under societies Registration Act 1860. The Institute started functioning under the directorship of Prof. T. Pradhan on September 4, 1974 in two rented rooms of the Utkal University Guest House. After a few months, the Institute moved to a rented house in Sahid Nagar, Bhubaneswar, where its academic activities got started in January 1975 with two Faculties besides the then Director, Prof. T. Pradhan. From 1974 to 1981, the Institute functioned in rented buildings and moved to its present campus in 1981. On March 25,1985, the Institute was taken over by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).
