(i) Must possess a Degree in Law of a University in India established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or a State Act or an Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission, or recognized by Bar Council of India or any other equivalent qualification and enrolled as an Advocate under a State Bar Council established under the Advocates Act, 1961.
(ii) (a) Must be practising as an Advocate/Pleader in the High Courts or Supreme Courts or Courts Subordinate thereto and must have practiced for a period of not less than seven years on the date of notification or (b) Must be an Assistant Public Prosecutor having not less than seven years of experience as an Advocate and /or Assistant Public Prosecutor on the date of notification. (c) Must have practiced for a period of not less than 7 years on the date of notification and continue to be a practicing Advocate/working Assistant Public Prosecutor till the date of selection and appointment. or (d) Serving Judicial Officers (Civil Judges and Senior Civil Judges) having seven years practice, as Advocate and Judicial Service put together, are permitted to participate in the selection subject to the outcome of SLP No.14156/2015 pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
Pay Scale:Pay Scale:
51550-63070/- P.M + Allowances
Age Limit: 35 years.
Examination Fee: Rs.2,000/- for all applicants, except the candidates falling under the categories mentioned below. Any candidate who is not bonafide resident/domicile of state of Tamil Nadu shall be treated as Unreserved Category (UR) in all respects for the selection process and shall also have to pay examination fees accordingly.

The Madras High Court is the high court of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The court is one of the three High Courts in India established in the three Presidency Towns of Bombay, Calcutta, and Madras by Letters patent granted by Her Majesty Queen Victoria, bearing date 26 June 1862. It exercises original jurisdiction over the city of Chennai and appellate jurisdiction over the entire state of Tamil Nadu and Union territory of Puducherry, as well as extraordinary original jurisdiction, civil and criminal, under the Letters Patent and special original jurisdiction for the issue of writs under the Constitution of India.
It consists of 74 judges and a chief justice who are in charge of the general policy adopted in the administration of justice. In September 2016, the center government forwarded names of 15 new judges to the President for his signature on their warrants of appointment. Of the 15, nine are from among lawyers and six from the subordinate judiciary.

I am applying for the post of District Judge exam but it takes too long time for uploading the 3rd stage and I am unable to proceed to ‘Next Step’ further?
The application details are to be filled in 5 steps. The maximum Login Session for each Step in the Online mode is fixed as 30 minutes to avoid manipulation/hacking. The Applicant shall save the details entered by them within the time stipulated. Once the session expires in 30 minutes, the save button or any other button will not respond. To overcome the situation, the applicant is advised to save often while filling the case details/other details and while processing the next step button and click previous step button again to proceed filling the further details.
I am applying for the post of District Judge Entry Level. Before completing the whole process, I have closed the browser without using "Logout" option. While I try to Login again, it shows an error. What should I do?
If an applicant/user closes the online application window due to power failure/accidentally without logging out, while trying to login she/he will receive an email stating that "Login already in use in another location”. To login, the applicant has to go to the link provided in the email originally sent and select the link “click here” link to release the account locked.
After successful registration while trying to login in the Recruitment Portal, the message comes stating that “User Name / Password Not valid or Does Not Exist”. How to login successfully?
Select the “Forget Password” link and then enter your E mail ID. Reset link will be sent to your E mail. By clicking the Reset Link, the Password can be changed as you like and you can login successfully.
