National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) invites proposals for engagement of Consultant and Jr. Consultant for Preparation of Training Module on “Forest Fire” on the following terms and conditions:

1. Name of the Post : Jr. Consultant

2. Number of Post : One

3. Scope of work The work for Preparation of Training Module on “Forest Fire” includes Desk Research, Field Visit (if required) to the study area/site, coordination and collection of information from the line departments, Compilation of data and analysis, Report making and any other related activity required for developing the document.

4. Eligibility Criteria : 

(a) Jr. Consultant: Candidate should have a Masters degree in Social Sciences/Geography/GIS/Geometrics/Environmental/Earth Science/Engineering/Disaster Management/Hydrology/Hydrogeology or allied subjects with at least 50% marks or its equivalent in Masters degree with consistent good academic record;

5. Proposal : NIDM proposes to engage one Consultant and one Jr. Consultant for Preparation of Training Module on “Forest Fire”. Jr. Consultant shall be paid fixed amount of Rs.50,000/- on completion of whole work. The work is required to be completed within a period of six months

About National Institute of Disaster Management

National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) is an initiative by Ministry of Home Affairs to train and to run capacity development programs to takle natural disasters in India. NIDM also serves as international SAARC Disaster Management Centre (SDMC) and works as focus for its operation and planning.

NIDM provides technical support to the state governments through the Disaster Management Centres (DMCs) in the Administrative Training Institutes (ATIs) of the States and Union Territories. Presently NIDM is supporting 30 such centres. Six of these centres are being developed as Centres of Excellence in the specialised areas of flood risk management, earthquake risk management, cyclone risk management, drought risk management, landslides risk management and management of industrial disasters. Eleven larger states (Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha) have been provided with additional centres to cater their needs in this area.
