Who Can Apply?

This recruitment is exclusively for officers of Central Government, State Governments, and Union Territories serving under the Stenographer's cadre or ministerial cadre. Fresh candidates and private sector employees are not eligible to apply. Applications must be routed through the proper channel with the cadre controlling authority's endorsement.

Post-Wise Qualification & Experience Requirements

  • Senior Private Secretary: Officers of the Stenographer's cadre under Central/State Government or Union Territories – (a)(i) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre/department; or (ii) with two years' service in Level-7 (Rs. 44,900–1,42,400); and (b) possession of a graduate degree from a recognized University.
  • Section Officer / Office Superintendent: Officers under Central/State Government/UTs – (a)(i) holding analogous posts on regular basis; or (ii) with five years' service in Level-6 (Rs. 35,400–1,12,400); and (b) Bachelor's degree from a recognized University with computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and slide generation certified by the cadre controlling authority.
  • Assistant: Officers of Central Government, State Government, or UTs – (a)(i) holding analogous posts on regular basis; or (ii) with six years' service in Level-5 (Rs. 29,200–92,300); and (b) Bachelor's degree from a recognized University and passed the computer proficiency test prescribed by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
  • Accountant: Officers under Central/State Government/UTs – (a)(i) holding analogous posts on regular basis; or (ii) with six years' service in Pay Band-1, Scale of Pay Rs. 5,200–20,200 with Grade Pay Rs. 2,800 (revised Level-5); and (b) Bachelor's degree from a recognized University; and (c) passed the SAS examination conducted by an organized Accounts Department of the Central Government, or undergone training in cash and accounts work at ISTM or equivalent with three years' experience in cash, accounts, and budget work.
  • Stenographer Grade-I: Officers of Stenographer's cadre under Central/State Governments or UTs – (a)(i) holding analogous posts on regular basis; or (ii) with six years' service in Level-5; or (iii) with ten years' service in Level-4; and (b) graduate degree from a recognized University with computer proficiency. Skill test: shorthand speed 10 minutes @ 100 words per minute; transcription in 40 minutes (English) or 55 minutes (Hindi) on computer.
  • Stenographer Grade-II: Officers of Stenographer's cadre under Central/State Governments or UT Administrations – (a) holding analogous posts on regular basis; and (b) 12th class pass from a recognized Board or equivalent.
  • Upper Division Clerk (UDC): Officers of Central Government, State Governments, or UT Administrations – (a)(i) holding analogous posts on regular basis; or (ii) with eight years' service in Level-2 (Rs. 19,900–63,200); and (b) 12th class pass from a recognized Board.
  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC): Officers of Central Government, State Governments, or UT Administrations – (a) holding analogous post on regular basis; and (b) 12th class pass from a recognized Board or equivalent.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications (25 November 2026).

Selection Process & Screening Criteria

Selection for the NIA Ministerial Staff posts will be made on a deputation basis and involves the following stages:
