National Jalma Institute of Leprosy and other Microbial Diseases (NJILMOD) was established on 1st April 1976. This was named as Central JALMA Institute for Leprosy in 1976 and has been renamed as "National Jalma Institute of Leprosy and other Mycobacterial Diseases" in 2005.

The Institute has completed 37 years of its existence under ICMR. The Institute has a major thrust on leprosy, relevant areas of tuberculosis and other mycobacteriosis, HIV and Filariasis etc. The Institute has state of the art facilities like BSL-3 labs, DNA chip lab, Proteomics Lab, all well-equipped laboratories, modern hospital at Ghatampur as well as Agra. The Institute has established its leadership in all important aspects of leprosy and mycobacterial research.

Jalma Agra Vacancy has been declared for the following posts Research Associate (RA) (SC), Research Associate (RA) (OBC), Technician (Physiotherapy), Microbiologist. Jalma Agra recruitment if for the following posts - Lab Technician, Technician-C, Project Assistant (PA).

Candidates can pursue courses in Ph.D in the relevant subject Or Master's degree in the relevant subject, Masters of Physiotherapy in Ortho (MPT. Ortho), Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy (BPT), MD (Microbiology) or M.
