The College is located under undivided Paschim Barigog Mauza in the locality district of Kamrup. It is situated in the middle part of the vast, which is a distance of about 20 Kms from Rangia, 20 Kms from Nalbari,20 Kms from Hajo, and 45Kms from Gauhati University, Jalukari. The College was established in 1984 with the noble objective of spreading the light of Higher education amongst the students of this rural, remote, flood-prone, economically and educationally backward area. The College was brought under the Provincialisation system in the year 2013 by the Govt. Of Assam. It is permanently affiliated to Gauhati University and is under the purview of Section 2(F) and 12(B) of the UGC act 1956. At present, it has nine departments in the Arts Faculty and offers courses in computer application and Information technology, and Environmental studies. It imparts education to more than twelve hundred students and more than Five hundred students are enrolled annually.
