Applications are invited for the Position of one JRF* in a sponsored research project supported by department of scientific and industrial research (DSIR), under Ministry of Science & Technology, GoI. The details are as follows: 1. Title of the Project: “Study of specific areas registering high failure rate of distribution transformers to analyze the cause of failure and suggest a solution to overcome this problem by applying IT technology and integrating it with metering solutions.” 2. Project duration: 12 Months 3. Duration of the post: Up to 31st Dec. 2022 4. Post Name: Junior Research Fellow 5. No of Posts: 01 6. Job Description: The project work will involve collection and analysis of transformer failure data, instrumentation for data collection, simulation studies for development of IT based solution for transformer-failure monitoring and control. 7. Essential Qualification: M. Tech. OR B.E. / B. Tech. with qualified GATE score, in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation / any similar discipline with knowledge in the field of the project. 8. Desired Qualification: M.Tech. with Minimum 7 CPI/CGPA at the Master's level (for M. Tech. candidates) or 65% (CGPA 6.50) at the graduation level. Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, instrumentation, transformer operations, etc. Preference will be given to a candidate having knowledge/ experience in the area of the project. 9. Remuneration: Rs. 31,000/- per month plus accommodation or HRA.

Selection Procedure

Probably at no previous moment in the world history have commerce and industry become so complex, extensive, and globally interrelated as they are today. India, which is going through a rapid growth in its manufacturing sector, is not unaffected by these changes. The modern manufacturing environment entails a large variety of cross-disciplinary activities including the Design and IT. Engineers consequently are being called upon to work within new environmental, economical and social constraints which are increasingly becoming a part of contemporary engineering practice. Obviously, these elements need to find their way into the engineering curricula. However, traditional engineering instructional formats isolate teaching and research into specific disciplines with un-integrated curricula and therefore the structure of our engineering curricula have hardly changed in accordance with the modern manufacturing needs. Such divisions in the existing higher education formats are found to act as barriers to learning, behavior, and performance.
