Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria for Stringer/Cameraman

• Essential: Applicants must be a Proprietor, Partnership firm, or corporate body/Organization with experience in visuals coverage.
• Experience: Must have expertise in cinematography/videography/news gathering/broadcast journalism. Applicants equipped with four-wheel vehicles are preferred.
• Equipment: Adequate facilities and equipment to undertake coverages (DVC-Pro/DV-CAM/CCD/Mini DV acceptable). Copies of proof of Academic and Technical qualifications, Experience, and Equipment ownership must be submitted.

Salary / Stipend

• Local Coverage: Rs. 1500 per coverage (duration of 6 hours), inclusive of transportation and delivery charges. If duration exceeds 6 hours or locations are more than 10 km apart, it is treated as two coverages (2nd coverage paid @ Rs. 1000).
• Outstation Coverage: Rs. 1800 (beyond geographic limit of the town of the Kendra), irrespective of footage length or usage.
• Payment is made irrespective of the length of footage or its usage.

Selection Process

• Preliminary scrutiny to shortlist applicants.
• Test coverage by short-listed applicants (two test coverages using own equipment).
• Interview.
• Verification of equipment and documents (physical verification).
• Final panel based on assessment scale, interview, and test coverage quality.
• Selected Stringers to sign a contract.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format (Annexure ‘A’) in triplicate, supported by a Demand Draft of Rs. 1180/- (including 18% GST) as a non-refundable processing fee. Enclose attested copies of certificates for qualifications, experience, and equipment. The application must be submitted in a sealed cover superscribed "Empanelment of Stringers of DD News" on or before 20 February 2026 to: Head, Regional News Unit, Doordarshan Kendra, Near Rispana Pul, Haridwar Bypass Road, Dehradun.
