The state of Rajasthan was established in the year 1949 as a result of the merger of princely states. In the past, the functioning of each princely state was different in the field of education. Therefore, the state government paid special attention to education and in order to conduct education systematically, in the year 1950, the Headquarters of Primary and Secondary Education, Rajasthan Bikaner was established. In order to bring quality in education, separate Directorates of Elementary Education and Secondary Education were established in the year 1997, which are currently functioning as separate departments. After that, in order to conduct the work of the Secondary Education Department systematically, this office was divided into several sections and different tasks were fixed for each section.
