Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Aquaculture (RGCA) is Research & Development center particularly for the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), Ministry of Commerce & Industry. The Marine Products Export Development Authority was inspired by the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's idea of making India an advanced nation in technology, and so came into existence the Centre of Excellence in Aquaculture and devoted it to development of the Indian Aquaculture Industry.
