Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
- Technical Officer:
- First Class B.E./B.Tech. in Biotechnology/ Biomedical Engineering/ Instrumentation Engineering /Electronics & Communication Engineering OR First Class M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Physics/Chemistry.
- Minimum of two years of documented work experience in the relevant field in Central or State Government research institutions/ PSU/Autonomous Bodies/ Universities.
- Technical Assistant Group II:
- First Class Bachelor's Degree in Science.
- Minimum of one year of documented work experience in the relevant field in Central or State Government research institutions/ PSU/Autonomous Bodies/ Universities.
- Technical Assistant Group I:
- Plus Two / Higher Secondary / VHSE or equivalent with First Class.
- Minimum of one year of documented work experience in the relevant field in Central or State Government research institutions/ PSU/Autonomous Bodies/ Universities.
- Nationality: Citizens of India only.
- Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on 14 December 2026. Age relaxation applicable as per RGCB/GoI rules.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
Selection is based on a three-tier examination conducted exclusively in Thiruvananthapuram.
- Tier I - Objective Test: 100 questions (General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language), 90 minutes duration. +2 marks for correct answers, -0.50 marks for incorrect answers.
- Tier II - Descriptive Test: Pen and paper mode, 100 marks (10 questions, answer any 5), 90 minutes duration. Covers academic subjects and post-related topics.
- Tier III - Practical Skills Test: Pass/Fail practical test based on the job description. Candidates are shortlisted based on Tier I & Tier II combined score (Max 300 marks).
Final merit list is based on Tier I + Tier II scores of candidates who qualify Tier III.
