Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna (RSBY) is known as National Health Insurance Programme (NHIP). The scheme was started enrolling on 1st April 2005, and implemented in 25 States of India, scheme comes under the Ministry of Labour And Employment and now it transferred to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

The Yojana is work to decrease the expenditure of hospitalization and medicines by compelled insurance, which shares the risk of a major health shock across many householders by pooling them together and designed the process of implementation of health insurance is increased access to quality health care.

The RSBY provide health insurance for the enrolled of BPL (Below Poverty Line) families. The state government prepare and submit the BPL Data to allows the insurer to track claims, transfer fund to the hospitals and investigate in the case of suspicious claim patterns through an audit.
