Project Titled: “setting Up Of Nation-wide Network Of Laboratories For Managing Epidemics And National Calamities” Regional Virus Research Dignostic Laboratory (VRDL)

1. Post Name: Scientist-B (Medical) - 01

2. Essential Qualification: 

MBBS degree recognized by MCI with one year experience in relevant subject OR BDS degree recognized by DCI with one year experience in relevant subject OR B.V.Sc. & AH degree recognised by VCI with one year experience in relevant subject

3. Desirable Qualification

i. MD/DNB in the related subject from a recognized university for candidates with first class relevant degree. (MD Microbiology/ DNB Microbiology).

ii. M.V.Sc in the related subject from a recognized  university for candidates with first class relevantdegree.

iii. Additional Post doctoral research/training experience  in the relevant subjects in recognized institute(s).

iv. Knowledge and training of molecular virology as part of the post-graduate curriculum and hands-on experience of molecular biology techniques including conventional PCR, real-time PCR, sequencing and data interpretation and

troubleshooting. 

v. Previous experience of biosafety measures and handling samples for respiratory virus detection and characterization 

vi. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data Management

4. Salary: INR 56,000 +HRA

1. Post Name: Scientist-B (Non-Medical) - 01

2. Essential Qualification: 

1st class Master’s degree in relevant subject (Microbiology, Biotechnology, Virology) from a recognized university OR 2nd class M. Sc. + Ph.D degree in relevant subject (Microbiology, Biotechnology, Virology) from a recognized university. OR B. Tech degree in relevant engineering subject (Biotechnology) with 2 years experience or equivalent degree from a recognized university.

3. Desirable Qualification

i. Doctorate or M. Tech Degree in relevant subject or engineering subject from a recognized university for candidates with first class relevant degree. 

ii. Additional Post-doctoral research / training experience in relevant subjects in relevant subjects in recognized institute(s). 

iii. Two years R&D / Teaching experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification. 

iv. Hands-on experience of molecular and serological assays for virological diagnosis and previous laboratory experience of handling samples for respiratory virus detection and characterization

v. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data Managementtion and characterization 

4. Salary: INR 56,000 +HRA

Selection Procedure

1. The interview for the posts will be held through video conferencing for which the specific date and time slot will be intimated through return email to shortlisted candidates

2. The posts of Scientist B (Medical) and Scientist B (Non-Medical) may involve a laboratory skill test for selection following the interview depending on the number of candidates.
