Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Essential: Doctorate (Ph.D.) in any branch of Science (especially Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics).
• Desirable:
  • Post-doctoral research experience.
  • Original published work of high standard.
  • Evidence of high professional eminence (Fellowships of academies, national/international awards).
  • Experience in managing major research projects.

2. Experience Requirements

• For Direct Recruitment:
  • At least 25 years of research experience in academic/industrial/S&T organizations.
  • Out of this, at least 6 years must be in a senior position managing a research group, chairing committees, or handling managerial/administrative duties (planning, budget, finance).
• For Deputation/Contract:
  • Scientists working in Govt./Universities/Research Institutes holding analogous posts.
  • OR with 1 year regular service in Level 16 (HAG+).
  • OR 3 years regular service in Level 15 (HAG).
  • OR 7 years regular service in Level 14.

3. Age Limit & Relaxation

• Cut-off Date: 01.01.2026
• Maximum Age: 56 Years.
• Superannuation Age: 60 Years.
• Age Relaxation: As per Government of India rules (Standard SC/ST/OBC/PwD relaxations apply as per eligibility for senior posts).

4. Mandatory Requirements

• Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
• Persons employed in Government/Autonomous bodies must send applications through Proper Channel.
• Required documents: No Objection Certificate (NOC), Vigilance Clearance, Integrity Certificate, and ACRs of last 5 years.

Selection Procedure
