Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
- Deputy Town Planner:
- Qualification: M.Arch / M.E. (Civil) / B.Arch / B.E. (Civil) / M.Plan / B.Plan from a recognized university.
- Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in City Planning / Town Planning / Regional Planning OR Membership of the Institute of Town Planners.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in Town Planning (post-qualification).
- Computer Knowledge: As per Gujarat Civil Services Rules 1967.
- Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi.
- Assistant Town Planner:
- Qualification: Same as Deputy Town Planner.
- Experience: Not required.
- Computer & Language: Same as Deputy Town Planner.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
- SMC will prepare a waiting list based on prescribed qualifications to fill current vacancies.
- The Municipal Commissioner will decide whether to conduct a Written Test, Practical Test, or Oral Interview based on the number of applications received.
- Final selection is subject to verification by the Staff Selection Committee.
- Tie-breaker rule: Older candidate gets priority; if age is equal, higher educational merit is considered.
- Travel Expenses: No TA/DA will be paid to candidates attending tests at fixed venues.
