Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu by an Act of State Legislature (Act No. 9 of 2012) to provide quality legal education at the global level. TNNLU is the brainchild of the former Honble Chief Minister Dr. J Jayalalithaa who laid its foundation stone on 13th February 2012.

TNNLU is located in 25 acre campus in the Tiruchirappalli-Dindigul NH 45, at Navalurkuttappattu Village, about 12 kilometres from Tiruchirappalli Railway Junction / Central Bus Stand.

Tiruchirappalli, known as Rock Fort City, is well connected by road, rail and air. Trichy has daily flights from Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai and Kochi. Madurai, a well-connected airport, is a hour and half by road from TNNLU.
